We have been learning about Mount Vesuvius through our topic Location, Location, Location. We have been making our own volcanoes in art to help us carry out a science experiment. Today we learnt how volcanoes erupt and then did a science experiment to explore this further. We learnt that a chemical reaction occurred between the acid (vinegar) and the alkali (bicarbonate of soda), bubbles of carbon dioxide were released.
We had so much fun doing this experiment! 🌋
