Weekly Note 2nd September 2022

It has been great to welcome pupils back to school this week. Pupils have settled back well and we look forward to an exciting school year. 

School Day Start Time 

Now that Covid restrictions have been eased we have reverted back to our traditional start time of 8.50am. Pupils should be in school for classes starting at 8.50am. 

Attendance 

If a pupil is off sick a phonecall to the school office should be made on the first day of a pupil's absence. On a pupil's return a written note explaining the absence must be given to the child's teacher. Attendance is monitored by myself at the end of each month and a note for any unaccounted for absences will be sent out. 

Uniform 

A reminder that Tuesday and Thursday are PE days and pupils should wear PE uniform on these days. 

Dinner Menu

The dinner menu has been attached.

If your child is ordering a meal please send a labelled envelope on Monday morning, with the exact money inside and stating the days you would like to order a school dinner. In order to help kitchen staff organise meals please send separate envelopes for siblings. Meals are priced at £2.60 per day.

Toast and bread rolls are available at breaktime from. Please place orders on a Monday morning, toast is 30p per slice and bread rolls are 70p each.

Car Park

Please remember parents should not drop off or collect pupils from the staff car park.

Windmill and Breakfast Club 

Breakfast Club is open each morning from 8am. Pupils do not need to be booked in to attend. 

Windmill is open each day from 2pm to 5.30pm. Pupils must be booked in and paid for on a Monday morning. Windmill cost £3 per day per child and this money should be sent to the school office on a Monday morning. Please note P1 to P3 pupils who are staying for the school bus are required to pay to attend Windmill Club. 

School Gate 

The main gate is now locked during the school day from 9am onwards. Any parents entering school grounds should do so via the side gate beside the car park gate. Pupils are still to be dropped off and collected from the main gate. We appreciate your support with these measures. 

Late arrivals 

If your pupil arrives to school late they may be required to enter school grounds via the side gate. Any P1 to P4 late arrivals should enter the school building via the main entrance at the office. P5 to P7 pupils should head straight to the mobile. 

Contact Information 

Your child's class teacher should always be the first point of contact for any questions/ queries or concerns. Teachers are unable to take phone calls during the school day, however messages can be left with the school office and teachers will ring when classes finish. Staff Development Day 

A reminder that school is closed on Monday 26th September for a Staff Development Day. 

Uniform 

Please ensure names on are on uniform items. Pupils should bring a coat to school each day. 

Music Lessons 

String lessons with McKay start on Friday 9th September.
